Runelic - Runic Font for Minecraft
The Runelic mod introduces a unique runic font to Minecraft that is compatible with all in-game text elements supporting custom styles. You can use it on signs, in books, item labels, and inventory tooltips, as well as with many other mods including Tips.
Font Features
The runic font replaces standard characters with mystical runic symbols and patterns. The text can be easily read if you know the character correspondences. All uppercase and lowercase letters use the same designs. Although some symbols are inspired by real languages and cultures, any associations or symbolism are coincidental.
Currently, the runic character set includes:
- Standard Latin alphabet (26 letters in uppercase and lowercase)
- Numbers from 0 to 9
- Special characters: !"#$%&'()*+,-./

Unique Banner Patterns
The mod also adds over 50 banner patterns corresponding to each character of the runic font. These patterns can be applied to banners using special stencils obtainable from wandering traders. This opens up new possibilities for creative self-expression in the game.

Usage Methods
Commands and NBT
Standard Minecraft commands that work with text components support the runic font by specifying the font ID in text properties.
/give @p stone{display:{Name:"[{\"text\":\"Hello\",\"italic\":false,\"color\":\"gold\",\"font\":\"runelic:runelic\"}]"}} 1
/title @a title {"text":"Hello","font":"runelic:runelic"}
Bookshelf Commands
Since the mod depends on Bookshelf, special font-related commands are available on servers:
/bookshelf font say runelic:runelic- send a chat message using the font/bookshelf font item runelic:runelic- apply the font to the name of the held item/bookshelf font book runelic:runelic- apply the font to the book name and its pages/bookshelf font block runelic:runelic x y z- apply the font to a block entity (signs, chests)
For Developers
If you're developing a mod or have access to programming tools, you can apply the font to any mutable text components by setting the font in the component's style.
