SectionProtection

SectionProtection is a server-side-only Forge mod designed for chunk protection.

How to Use the Mod

Usage is very simple and close to vanilla style. Each team is represented by a banner pattern. To turn a banner into a "Protecting" one, right-click it with an item from the sectionprotection:conversion_item tag (by default, only Netherite Ingot). A Protecting Banner can be placed in a chunk, making that chunk protected, and only members of the banner's team can perform actions within it.

Team Operation

A team represents a set of players who can interact with chunks claimed by a protecting banner with a specific pattern. When a Protecting Banner with a new pattern is created, a team for that banner is automatically created, initially including only the player who created the banner. To add players to the team, a "Protecting" Lectern must be created. It's obtained in the same way as Protecting Banners (right-click with a conversion item). A Protecting Lectern can be placed in a chunk claimed by a Protecting Banner to configure the team members of that banner. By placing a book in the lectern, all players whose names are in the book are added to the team (this process replaces old members). Using an empty book, the lectern will add all current team members to the book.

Fake Players

Fake players are more complex, as many mods don't handle them correctly. SectionProtection includes fixes that should allow whitelisting of any fake players. To include a fake player in a team, first, you need to know its name. Use the command /sectionprotection fake_players list to get a list of all fake players on the server. Then, through the Protecting Lectern, add the fake player's name to the team, but with the suffix -FP. Examples: Deployer-FP (Create deployer), [IF] (Industrial Foregoing global fake player).
