Installation Compatibility
Mod Version
The modification supports all major Minecraft versions since the 1.20.1 release. A complete list of supported versions is provided below.

Note: Specific porting for NeoForge and Quilt isn't planned, but the mod should function correctly since these platforms support Forge and Fabric mods respectively.
Data Pack Version
Data pack version is compatible with all major Minecraft releases starting from version 1.20.
Modification Features
Sensible Smithing Templates is a Minecraft modification and data pack that significantly reduces the crafting cost of smithing template duplicates. In the original recipes, all diamonds are replaced with resources matching the specific template. Now only one diamond is required for duplication instead of seven.
For example, creating a duplicate of the "Wild Armor" template will require 7 mossy cobblestone and one diamond.
Optimized Recipes
Some template recipes have been refined for better visual alignment with the templates themselves and to incorporate changes analogous to the Bedrock edition:
- Rib Armor Trim: Uses Nether Bricks (instead of Netherrack)
- Spire Armor Trim: Can use Purpur Pillars (aligning with Bedrock Edition)
- Tide Armor Trim: Uses Prismarine Bricks (instead of Prismarine)
Concept of Changes
The idea for creating this modification stemmed from the illogical situation where cosmetic items require enormous resource investments solely for the mechanism of reducing diamond quantities in the game. This approach seems unreasonable and forces players to spend disproportionate amounts of time mining diamonds just for the appearance of their armor.
In future updates, consideration may be given to balancing some of the rare recipes, particularly for the Netherite upgrade template and the Silence armor trim.
