Silent's Gems: Extra Parts

What is this mod?

Extra Parts is a simple yet useful addition to the Silent's Gems modification. It expands tool crafting possibilities by adding numerous new materials for assembly. It's important to note that the actual crafting ingredients are not included in this mod - you'll need other mods that add corresponding ingots and register them in the ore dictionary.

For example, if you have a mod that adds bronze, you'll be able to create tools from this material. The mod is only compatible with Minecraft 1.9 and newer, since the older version of Silent's Gems doesn't support adding new materials.

How to use

Tool creation is done through Silent's Gems modular recipes. If you're unsure about the crafting process, examine the recipe of any gem tool and replace one or more components with the desired materials. You can combine stones from the original mod with materials from this addon - the main requirement is that all parts must be of the same tier.

For creating top-tier tools, ornate rods will be required instead of regular sticks. Bow and shield recipes differ from standard ones. When in doubt, use JEI to view available recipes.

Added materials

Basic vanilla materials

These parts mimic standard Minecraft materials, suitable for early game or decorative purposes:

• Polished Wood (mundane tier) - Available in variants: oak, birch, spruce, jungle, dark oak, acacia, and generic wood. All types have identical characteristics, slightly superior to standard wooden tools. Crafted with two rows of wooden slabs.
• Polished Stone (mundane tier) - Universal stone variant, superior to standard stone tools. More durable than flint but slower and deals less damage. Created from two rows of cobblestone slabs.

Extreme materials

Parts with extreme characteristics, perfectly suited for combined tools and armor:

• Reinforced Obsidian (super tier) - Incredible durability of 20,480 units with weak other characteristics. Excellent for shovels or combined tools. Adds "Reinforced" prefix to the tool name.
• Crystallized Chaos Essence (super tier) - Low durability for super tier but excellent characteristics in all other aspects. Difficult to craft, requires nether star.

Metals

Support for the most common metals from various mods. All ingots are added by the mod but normally unobtainable:

Mundane tier:

• Copper - More durable than flint but weaker in other characteristics
• Tin - Better than copper in most parameters
• Nickel - Mostly better than iron, probably the best mundane material
• Zinc - Similar to tin

Regular tier:

• Silver - Less durable than tin but faster
• Lead - Doesn't excel in any particular characteristics
• Aluminium - Superior to iron in most parameters, very high attack speed
• Bronze - Decent durability and mining speed for regular material
• Brass - Not the most outstanding material
• Steel - Good durability, mining speed and melee damage. Protection equal to diamond
• Invar - Balanced characteristics without obvious disadvantages
• Electrum - Very fast, but that's all

Super tier:

• Platinum - High mining speed, good melee and magic damage, but low durability
• Titanium - Good durability and excellent melee damage
• Enderium - Good durability, excellent mining speed and melee damage. Protection higher than diamond
• Prismarinium - Good durability, excellent mining speed and magic damage. High protection makes it one of the best choices for armor

The mod automatically adds materials when corresponding modifications are present:

Botania:

• Manasteel (regular) - Better than iron in some characteristics
• Elementium (regular) - Better than manasteel
• Terrasteel (super) - Very good durability and magic damage

• Katcheen (super) - Better than diamond, good enchantability
