Silent's Pets

The Silent's Pets modification significantly expands the variety of pets in Minecraft. Unlike regular animals that can be found in the wild, here you'll need to create your companions using special items.
Getting Started
To create a pet, you'll need to craft a Pet Summon. This requires eight units of Raw Pet Essence, which drops when killing any creatures - from zombies and cows to villagers and even mobs from other mods. The drop chance can be increased with the Looting enchantment.
After creating the desired Pet Summon, you can name it in an anvil, then use the item with right-click to summon your new friend (works similarly to spawn eggs). Different pets have varying health, damage, and movement speed characteristics.
Managing your pet is simple: right-click makes it follow you or stay in place. To protect your companion, use any helmet - it provides full armor protection.
If your pet dies in battle with a boss or from fire, there's a chance it will drop a new Summon for replacement. When injured but surviving, the pet will slowly regenerate health over time.
Special Items
Pet Wand
This tool provides several management functions:
- Armor - view pet's equipment (right-click) or remove it (Shift + right-click)
- Talk - turn pet sounds on/off
- Carry - ability to "pick up" the pet as an item and release it back
Name Plate
A reusable name tag alternative with a unique feature - it can be crafted with items to rename them. Also works for renaming mobs with durability consumption.
Available Pets
- Cow - high endurance, slow speed, can be milked
- Sheep - balanced characteristics, can be sheared
- Pig - deals increased damage
- Chicken - fragile and weak, but very fast
- Mooshroom - similar to regular cow, provides mushroom stew
- Cat - similar to vanilla cats, but can wear armor and help in combat
- Dog - similar to vanilla wolves, but with armor equipping capability
