Simple Changes

Simple Changes is a small mod that brings numerous minor improvements and additions to your Minecraft game while preserving the authentic vanilla atmosphere.

New Building Blocks

Sandstone Bricks — new building blocks appear with their variants: slabs, stairs, and walls. They can be crafted from cut sandstone or red cut sandstone for the red version.

Wooden Walls — walls made from all wood types are now available. They are crafted from 6 slabs of the corresponding wood type. Walls from the 9 wood types of the Overworld are flammable, while the two types from the Nether are not.

Copper Rails — function similarly to powered rails but are crafted from copper ingots, a stick, and redstone.

Changes in Mob Drops

Shulkers now always drop 2 shulker shells when killed.

Pigs now drop pig skin — a new item similar to rabbit hide that can be used to craft leather.

Husks now occasionally drop sand.

Blazes can drop 1-2 units of glowstone dust.

Changes to the Crafting System

When crafting 4 redstone torches, chains, or levers, fewer resources are now required.

Sticks can be made from 2 saplings.

Leather is created from phantom membrane.

Quartz blocks are now made from 9 units of quartz and can be disassembled back into components.

Dyeing wool requires 8 blocks and 1 dye — the process has been unified with dyeing other blocks.

Raw ore blocks can be smelted into corresponding metal blocks.

Other recipe balance changes have been implemented.

Increased Stack Sizes

Many items that previously stacked to less than 64 have had their capacity increased to 16 or 64 units. For potions, stacking up to 16, a usage delay of 1.5 seconds has been added to prevent abuse.

Other Useful Changes

Farmer villagers now buy honeycombs and sell beehives.

Mason villagers trade tuff.

Quartz ores in the Nether yield more resources — the same amount as copper ores.
