akkamaddi's Simple Cobalt - Advanced Metallurgy Mod

Welcome to the world of advanced metal alloys! This mod serves as an add-on to SimpleOres, significantly expanding crafting and survival possibilities in Minecraft.

Cobalt stuff Cobalt Ore block

Main Materials and Their Properties

The modification introduces four main metallic materials: Cobalt, Blue Drift Steel, Blue Celadon, and Green Celadon. Each possesses unique characteristics and creation recipes.

Cobalt - a hard and dense metal comparable to Mythril. Although Cobalt tools cut slower than Mythril ones, they have significantly greater durability. Cobalt armor provides reliable protection and exceptional longevity, though slightly inferior to Mythril in defense stats.

Mining Cobalt Ore requires a pickaxe of level 2 or higher (iron, bronze).

Blue Drift Steel - an alloy of Cobalt and Iron, created using coal/charcoal, gunpowder, or lapis powder. This material features high durability and excellent cutting ability. A special feature of the full Blue Drift Steel armor set is complete negation of fall damage.

Blue Celadon - a durable alloy of Cobalt and Mythril, approaching Thyrium in characteristics. Its creation requires redstone dust, lapis powder, or glowstone dust.

Green Celadon - a powerful alloy of Cobalt and Adamantium, surpassing Thyrium in strength but requiring a more complex production process. Its creation uses lapis powder, glowstone dust, or an emerald.

Cobalt Armors

Alloy Creation Recipes

  • Blue Drift Steel: Cobalt + Iron with catalyst: coal/charcoal (small), gunpowder (medium), lapis chunk (large)
  • Blue Celadon: Cobalt + Mythril with catalyst: redstone dust (small), lapis chunk (medium), glowstone dust (large)
  • Green Celadon: Cobalt + Adamantium with catalyst: lapis chunk (small), glowstone dust (medium), emerald (large)

Additional Features

All materials can be used to create standard tool sets and armor. Tool recipes use standard sticks from Ore Directory, ensuring compatibility with mods adding new wood types.

Cobalt and Blue Drift Steel can also be used to create rails using the same recipes as iron rails. Cobalt yields a batch of 24 rails, while Blue Drift Steel produces 44 rails.

Metal chunks follow standard compounding recipes, and large chunks are smelted into ingots.
