Simple Kelpies - Mythical Water Creatures in Minecraft

The Simple Kelpies modification introduces players to kelpies - mysterious mythological creatures from Celtic folklore. These beings appear as magnificent white horses that spawn on coastlines, near rivers and oceans.

According to ancient legends, kelpies lure people by offering rides on their backs, then carry them into water where they become deadly dangerous. In the game, they fully match this characteristic - attempting to ride a wild kelpie will end with a swift run to the nearest body of water with fatal consequences for the rider.

However, there is a way to tame these powerful creatures. Various underwater locations contain golden bridles - rare in dungeons, more accessible in shipwrecks, and frequently found in underwater ruins. A tamed kelpie surpasses regular horses in running speed and jump height. To restore health, they eat meat, salmon, or cod.

Starting from version 1.2.0, kelpies can be bred using rare golden cod. They can crossbreed both with each other and with regular horses to produce improved breeds. Particularly lucky breeders may obtain a rare black kelpie when breeding two regular specimens.
