Getting to Know the Mod

The Simple Ostriches modification introduces one new mob to Minecraft — the ostrich. These birds feature unique animations and special characteristics that make them an interesting addition to the game world.

Habitat and Behavior

Ostriches spawn in savanna biomes in groups of 2-4 individuals. The mod features two varieties of these birds, resembling male and female real-life ostriches. They are peaceful creatures — even if you attack them, they won't fight back. Instead, the birds will run around for 2 seconds and then bury their heads in the ground.

Breeding and Eggs

Ostriches can be bred, but the process differs from regular mobs. After mating, the bird lays one ostrich egg, which hatches over time. Don't forget to find the egg in time!

Riding

You can ride ostriches by putting a saddle on them, similar to pigs. Be careful — these birds are very fast!

Drops and Usage

If you decide to kill an ostrich (though why would you?), they will drop feathers and a new food source — ostrich meat. This is an average nutritional meat that can be cooked in furnaces, smokers, or campfires to obtain cooked ostrich meat.
