Simple Spikes — Defensive Spikes for Minecraft
The Simple Spikes modification expands defense capabilities in Minecraft by adding various spiked blocks that deal damage and create special effects upon contact. Perfect for fortifying bases, creating mob traps, and adding strategic elements to survival gameplay.
The mod uses the Balm library for full functionality on Fabric, Forge, and NeoForge without additional configuration.
Spike Varieties
Available are different types of spikes made from various materials:
- Wooden Spikes: Crafted from all wood types (oak, dark oak, birch, jungle, acacia, spruce, warped, crimson, cherry, mangrove, pale oak) — deal moderate damage, suitable for basic defense.
- Stone and Cobblestone Spikes: Feature increased durability and deal more damage compared to wooden counterparts.
- Metal Spikes: Iron, gold, diamond, and netherite variants offer maximum damage, longevity, and special properties (e.g., armor penetration).
- Slime Spikes: A special type that knocks back entities upon contact, adding an additional tactical element.
Features and Integration
All blocks have detailed textures and models that seamlessly blend with Minecraft's standard graphics and popular resource packs.
Special attention is given to shield interaction — defending against spikes now works differently, adding strategic depth in battles with mobs and other players.
