SimplePets - Pets in Minecraft

SimplePets is a convenient plugin for creating pet companions in Minecraft. Originally developed as a simple alternative to EchoPets, this project has become one of the best solutions in its category over more than 6 years of existence.

System Requirements

Current as of September 2023:

• Minimum Spigot version: 1.17 (or compatible forks)
• Java requirements depend on Minecraft version:
  • Minecraft 1.17/1.17.1: Java 16
  • Minecraft 1.18-1.18.2: Java 17
  • Minecraft 1.19 and newer: Java 17

Installation

1. Download the plugin
2. Open the plugins folder on your server
3. Place the JAR file in this folder
4. RESTART the server
5. Configure the configuration files
6. RESTART the server to apply changes

Pet Selection

SimplePets offers a convenient graphical interface for selecting and creating pets. The menu provides functions:

• Riding pets
• Managing saves
• Renaming pets
• Placing pets on head

Pet Customization

Each pet has customizable parameters. The special "Pet Data Changer" menu allows players to easily modify the appearance and characteristics of their companions.

Addons

Thanks to version 5 architecture, the plugin easily integrates with other projects through the addon system. Addons can be installed:

• Manually via FTP
• Directly in-game with the /pet addon command

Note

The current version of SimplePets represents a complete overhaul of the previous v4 version. The new codebase is significantly cleaner and simplifies the update process. Version 5 includes support for addons for other plugins and future small features.
