Snow Under Trees

This mod was created during the MMD WinterJam 2019!

What the Mod Does

The Snow Under Trees mod implements a simple but important detail - now snow appears under trees in snowy biomes. This happens both when generating new chunks and during snowfall in the game. It's important to note that the effect only applies to cold biomes where snowfall is possible - regular forests remain unchanged. The mod also supports custom biomes from other mods and is compatible with Snow! Real Magic!, Serene Seasons, and Dynamic Trees.

Clearly compare the difference between standard snowy taiga generation (before installing the mod) and with Snow Under Trees installed:

Configuration

• enable_biome_feature - disable this option if you don't want snow to appear under trees when generating new territories.
• enable_when_snowing - set to false to prevent snow from forming under trees during snowfall.
• filtered_biomes - add biome IDs here that should be ignored by the mod. The ID of the current biome can be viewed in the F3 menu. For example, for plains it's: minecraft:plains
