Solar Soar
Enchantment Features
Solar Soar is a special enchantment for elytras available in four power levels. Its main function is automatic durability restoration under specific conditions. The repair speed depends on the enchantment level:
- Level 1: 1 durability unit every 3.5 seconds
- Level 2: 1 durability unit every 2.5 seconds
- Level 3: 1 durability unit every 1.5 seconds
- Level 4: 1 durability unit every 0.75 seconds
Activation Conditions
Several conditions must be met to activate the restoration effect. First, the elytra must be equipped in the chest slot. Second, the enchantment only works in the Overworld when exposed to direct sunlight. An interesting feature is that the effect can also activate at night if the character is under moonlight near a sufficiently bright light source. However, during flight this condition is usually not met, as the player rarely finds themselves near light sources.
Comparison with Other Enchantments
When choosing between Solar Soar and the classic Mending enchantment, it's worth considering their features. Mending is more universal - it works in any dimension and under any lighting, but requires experience points for activation, forcing the player to land regularly. Solar Soar, on the contrary, is completely free to operate after applying the enchantment, but is limited by lighting conditions and dimensions. Some players prefer to have two different elytras for different situations.
How to Obtain
The Solar Soar enchantment can be found in a new structure - the End Portal Frame. This structure is located in the End Highlands and is visually identical to the portal from the stronghold: 12 frames, some of which contain ender eyes. Somewhere among the ruins is hidden a chest containing the enchantment, which is not particularly difficult to find.
