Spiders Improve Over Time

Spiders in Minecraft become stronger as you progress in the game. The uniqueness of this system lies in the fact that the difficulty level is calculated individually for each player. Improvements occur gradually - every 20 minutes of game time.

Important Notice

This version of the datapack is no longer supported. Instead, it is recommended to use the extended version "Hostile Mobs Improve Over Time", which includes improvements for all hostile mobs.

Which Characteristics Improve

Over time, spiders receive enhancements in the following parameters:

  • Health increase
  • Movement speed improvement
  • Knockback resistance
  • Damage growth
  • Armor improvement
  • Increased follow range
  • Acquisition of potion effects (for example, fire resistance, regeneration, speed)
  • Ability to destroy crops

Time System

The difficulty timer works separately for each player and increases every game day (20 minutes). Sleeping does not accelerate this process. Maximum difficulty is reached after 100+ game days and does not increase further.

Testing Commands

To test spider strength at different stages, use functions: spid:day25, spid:day50, spid:day75, spid:day100. Alternatively, you can use the command: /scoreboard players set Spiddif . To reset your difficulty level use spid:reset, to reset all players - spid:resetall.

Installation

Standard installation for datapacks - place the ZIP file in the datapacks folder of your world.

Uninstallation

Execute the skel:uninstall function and remove the datapack from the datapacks folder.

Automatic Farms

Mobs only receive improvements when within 32 blocks of a player, so automatic farms continue to work normally without the need to modify fall height or killing chambers.
