Survival Tools

The Survival Tools modification enhances gameplay by adding various tools and mechanisms for controlling body temperature and thirst levels. The mod features built-in compatibility with popular survival systems Tough As Nails and SimpleDifficulty, offering solutions for both minimalist and heavily modded setups.

One of the key features is fluid containers such as canteens. Unlike other systems where fluid type is determined through item tags or durability, in Survival Tools containers function as full-fledged reservoirs. This allows filling and emptying them when interacting with fluid tanks, natural sources, and specialized devices from other mods. The only limitation is that all containers can hold exclusively purified water.

Basic Tools

Canteens

Two types of canteens are available: standard and reinforced. The player can drink directly from them to restore thirst level.

Hydration Systems

An upgraded version of the canteen with increased capacity and higher efficiency in converting fluid to thirst satisfaction. Unlike canteens, hydration systems cannot be drunk from directly—they automatically supply the character with moisture when equipped. Can be installed in body accessory slots or attached to chestplates. When worn, the system periodically replenishes thirst, consuming a small amount of fluid when reaching a certain threshold.

Handheld Purifier

An essential tool for filling containers with purified water. Eliminates the need to constantly use charcoal filters or boil water in furnaces. To operate, hold an empty bottle, bucket, or other container in your off-hand and activate the purifier while targeting a water source or tank. After brief processing, up to 1 bucket of liquid will be converted to purified water and placed in the item.

Central Climate Module

An RF-powered device that maintains comfortable temperature for all players within its range.

Portable Temperature Regulator

An energy-dependent item that, when activated, stabilizes the character's body temperature. Can be equipped as an accessory.

Portable Purifier

An RF-powered device performing dual functions: purifying contained water and automatically satisfying thirst. Accepts only regular water but immediately converts it to purified water. Also available for equipping as an accessory.

Blood Magic

• Hydration Sigil — automatically replenishes thirst using LP
• Temperate Lands Sigil — regulates body temperature using LP
• Ritual of the Soothing Hearth — large-scale ritual normalizing temperature for all players in the area

Botania

• Gryllzalia — flower consuming mana to control temperature of surrounding players
• Pure Pitcher — functional flower converting water blocks to purified water with storage inside the plant (details in Lexica Botania)
• Ring of Seasons — ring with temperature regulation based on mana

Embers

• Mantle Cloak — cloak powered by embers, quickly stabilizing body temperature (body accessory)
