Minecarts in Minecraft have long been overshadowed by other transportation methods, being slower than horses, boats, elytras, and even regular running. This datapack solves this problem by offering a way to increase rail speed without disrupting existing redstone mechanisms.

The new mechanic works as follows: if you place gravel beneath powered rails, the minecart's speed increases significantly. A double layer of gravel provides even greater acceleration. This gives players an incentive to develop railway infrastructure in their worlds, making it truly useful for transportation.
