The Ducks Mod for Forge and Fabric
This modification enriches the Minecraft world with diverse ducks, making your gaming environment more lively and varied.
Where Can You Find These Feathered Friends?
In swampy areas, you'll encounter mallards, while the taiga biome houses Pekin ducks. The diet of these waterfowl is quite specific — they willingly consume seagrass for reproduction.
Natural Cycle and Usefulness
These charming creatures, similar to chickens, regularly lay eggs that can be either boiled or consumed as food.
An interesting feature — these eggs can be dyed! Foxes don't mind feasting on these creatures, adding realism to the world's ecosystem.
Value for the Player
From harvested ducks, you'll obtain duck meat — a valuable food resource that becomes particularly nutritious through thermal processing.
Special Skins
By renaming a duck to Donald or Donald Duck, you'll get the classic look of this famous character. The mod also includes:
- Scrooge McDuck
- Darkwing Duck (Dactylus)
- Ducktor
- Daffy Duck
- Three brother ducks: Dewey (blue), Louie (green), and Huey (red)
Spawn Configuration
A common configuration file regulating the spawn frequency of ducks is located in the game's config folder. If you want these creatures to appear in biomes from other modifications, you'll need to modify the corresponding biome name setting.
Example for Forge:
For the bayou biome from Biomes O' Plenty, specify:
biome_name = "biomesoplenty:bayou"
For Fabric:
It's sufficient to specify only the biome name: bayou
For multiple biomes:
Use commas without spaces:
biome_name = "biomesoplenty:bayou,minecraft:swamp"
Important: In the Forge version for 1.19, the spawn configuration mechanism was changed — settings are now managed through biome tag and modifier JSON files. Fabric versions remained unchanged in this regard.
