The Fukang Meteorite

This modification was created as an addon for a non-Nether pack and was inspired by the real Fukang meteorite. It offers an alternative way to obtain glowstone in the Overworld.

Compact meteorites measuring 90 blocks with one central block generate in the world. The central block can be configured through the configuration file (diamond ore by default).

When meteorite blocks are broken, they drop 4 to 7 shards, which are used to create the glowing pallasite block. A pallasite lamp is also available.

Shards can be turned into glowstone dust by scratching them on a rock (right-click). This feature can be disabled in the settings.

All meteorite generation parameters are configurable: dimensions, spawn rarity, level in which they appear.
