About This Datapack

The Grinding Table is a datapack that adds a specialized processing table to the game, perfect for item management, crafting, and various other tasks.

Crafting the table requires only 2 planks, 1 gold ingot, and 1 smooth stone. The table's interface is intuitive and protects against potential errors during material processing.

Available Processing Recipes

The table supports a wide range of transformations:

  • Recycling wool and carpets into string
  • Converting gravel into flint
  • Breaking down nether wart blocks into individual warts
  • Transforming amethyst buds and blocks into amethyst shards
  • Processing soul sand into soul soil
  • Obtaining magma cream from magma blocks
  • Converting coal into black dye
  • Breaking down fire charges into gunpowder
  • Sandstone into regular sand
  • Various ice block types into simpler forms
  • Mangrove roots into sticks
  • Rails into nuggets
  • Stone blocks into cobblestone
  • Processing polished and regular variants of andesite, granite, and diorite
  • Breaking down brick blocks into individual bricks
  • Transforming nether brick blocks into items
  • And many other useful conversions

Frequently Asked Questions

How to disable the successful loading message?

Add the "Disable HFD Load Popups" datapack to your datapack or mod folder.

The pack doesn't work / Loading message doesn't appear

You're using a Minecraft version that doesn't support this pack. Check the list of compatible versions on the project page.

Table works but textures are missing

You don't have the resource pack installed. You can find it on the project's versions page.

How to create custom recipes or modify existing ones?

Method 1 (simple): Unzip the datapack and go to the \data\hfd-tgt\function folder. Find the file "base_recipes.json". To add a new recipe, copy the template from the beginning of the file, paste it at the end, and replace the necessary values. To edit existing recipes, find them in the file and modify as desired.

Method 2 (safe and compatible): Download the "Example TGT Recipe Pack" and unzip it. In the example datapack, change the path "example" to any other name (don't forget to also change it in the function tags file). When creating a world, place your datapack above TGT, otherwise it won't work. If the world is already created, disable your datapack with the /datapack command, then execute the command: /datapack enable [your datapack] after [TGT] When modifying or adding recipes in the recipes.json file, follow the same steps as in method 1.

Table functions but recipes don't work

You have a corrupted base_recipes.json file. Check the Minecraft log in the .minecraft\logs\latest.log folder for more information.

Standard recipes work but custom ones don't

You have a corrupted custom recipe datapack. Proceed similarly to the previous point.

Additional Information

The pack only executes commands when grinding tables are loaded to minimize performance impact.

If you want to uninstall the pack after use, you can use the /function hfd-tgt:uninstall command to simplify the process. Note that this command won't remove tables that are unloaded or stored in blocks.
