Too Many Entities
This mod provides the ability to hide excess entities to reduce lag, which is especially relevant when using mob farms. The creatures continue to exist in the world but become invisible to the player.
Configuration Settings
To use the mod, you must first configure the maximum entity limit, which can be set for individual creature types or globally for all. The default setting is 64. If a global limit of 64 units is applied, the mod will prevent displaying more than 64 entities of one type simultaneously. You can also set individual limits for each creature type - for example, limit the number of cows to 5, meaning that no more than 5 cows will ever be displayed on screen at once.
Practical Application
This feature is particularly useful for mob farms where there may be hundreds of creatures whose visualization is not essential. Hiding excess entities can significantly increase FPS depending on their original quantity.
Requirements and Compatibility
The mod requires Cloth Config, as well as Architectury API for versions after v1.0.1. For Fabric, Fabric API is necessary, and it's highly recommended to install Mod Menu to modify the mod's configuration without restarting the game. If Entity Culling is installed, there's an option available for these mods to work together for additional performance improvement.
Getting Started
If the mod isn't working, ensure it's configured correctly. By default, the mod doesn't hide excess entities to avoid unexpected behavior. Activate the function through the "Apply maximum entity count globally" setting or configure individual limits in the "Entities" tab of the settings menu.
Performance
To demonstrate the mod's efficiency, testing was conducted with multiple cows. FPS indicators were compared when limiting the number of cows to 100 using the mod and when it was disabled.
