Tooltip Pinner
Features and Functionality
This small mod was inspired by a suggestion shared on Reddit! The core idea allows you to pin item tooltips—they remain visible even when you stop hovering over the element. I expanded this concept by adding the ability to freely move pinned tooltips around the screen and persist them across different interfaces. This is an excellent solution for those who frequently forget current tasks (like me!).
Key Features
- Pin tooltips of any items—they stay on screen after moving the cursor away
- Freely move pinned tooltips around the workspace
- Tooltips persist when closing and reopening interfaces (but not when exiting the game!)
- Control with both mouse and hotkeys
- Client-side only—no need to install the mod on servers
Usage Notes
The mod was created in a few hours but should work stably. However, there are some nuances:
- Resizing the Minecraft window with active pinned tooltips may cause unexpected behavior
- Dragging a tooltip across the entire screen may change its direction and shift it slightly
- Attempting to move a tooltip positioned over an inventory item will also grab the item—use hotkeys in such cases
- Currently only item tooltips are supported
- Tooltips may appear on unexpected screens—please report any problematic cases!
