Transite - The Shifting Material for Minecraft
Transite is a unique metal that can be found in rare clusters at the boundary where regular stone transforms into deepslate. The peculiarity of this material lies in its unstable nature - tools and armor crafted from Transite constantly strive to change their original form and properties.
Transite tools gradually adopt characteristics of other tools, partially sacrificing their primary functions to gain new capabilities. For instance, a pickaxe might start chopping wood like an axe, and the next day acquire the combat qualities of a sword. However, the more the tool transforms, the slower it performs its original task. Armor behaves similarly - each piece possesses unique properties but simultaneously attempts to mimic the characteristics of other protective elements.
All Transite items feature two key parameters: current form and transformation level. Current form indicates which specific tool or armor piece the item is trying to imitate, while transformation level (from 0% to 80%) reflects the degree of this transformation. Every minute, the transformation level changes by 20% in one direction or another. When reaching 0%, the item completely loses its additional form, and when exiting this state, it randomly selects a new target for imitation among other Transite items.
A Transite tool can perform any operations available to both its base form and target transformation form. Its characteristics are calculated as a weighted average between these two forms, taking into account the current transformation level. For example, a pickaxe with 40% transformation toward an axe will mine with 60% efficiency, chop wood with 40% efficiency, can strip bark and wax from blocks, and its combat parameters will be intermediate between a pickaxe and an axe.
An important feature is the ability to lock the current form of an item by coating it with wax using honeycombs in a crafting table. This process is irreversible, so before waxing, make sure you're completely satisfied with the tool's current characteristics.
