Translocators 1.8.+

Overview

Translocators offers the ability to move items and liquids between adjacent inventories with extensive configurability while maintaining a natural feel for gameplay. This modification was created in just 36 hours during the ModJam competition and claimed first place.

Translocators in Action

This tool can be thought of as a placeable crafting grid with one slot. Translocators come in two types: for items and liquids. The module is installed on the wall of a container or tank and facilitates the exchange of contents within neighboring blocks.

Key Features:

• If the middle part protrudes outward, movement occurs from this side to those sides where the element is recessed.

• Content always attempts to move to outputs unaffected by redstone.

• Contents are evenly distributed across available outputs. Items are taken from slots with the highest quantity.

• Right-clicking on the panel of the item version provides access to versatile settings. Slots are simulated, and NEI’s drag-and-drop helps with configuration.

• When equipped with glowstone, bulk transfer of stacks occurs instead of individual items.

• Adding redstone allows you to toggle transfer on and off using a redstone signal.

• Diamond nuggets (crafted from a full diamond in a crafting grid) switch the mechanism to economy mode: it tries to maintain the specified quantity of items in the attached container.

  • For an input face: only items that add up to the required amount are accepted.
  • For an output face: any items beyond the required amount are ejected.

• Adding an iron ingot: Translocators emit redstone signals to the connected inventory based on set conditions: inputs emit if suitable items exceed capacity; outputs emit if no suitable destination exists.

• Pressing [Shift]+Right Click on the panel removes all enhancements and drops them around.
