Unenchanting

This mod provides an intuitive way to transfer enchantments from items to regular books. Simply place an enchanted item and a plain book in an anvil - for a configurable experience cost (default 2 levels per enchantment) you'll receive a book with the first enchantment from the item.

After the process, you'll have the original item without that enchantment (or with remaining enchantments), and your book stack will be restored. The mod works even when "repair cost is too high", though it doesn't reduce the repair cost of the original item.
