Unmending

This is an updated and adapted version of Vazkii's mod called Unmending.

Unmending is a minimalist mod that nerfs the Mending enchantment without making it completely useless. After installation, you'll notice the following changes in the game:

• Items with the Mending enchantment already applied will no longer repair using experience.
• Applying the Mending enchantment to items becomes impossible.
• Using a Mending book on an item resets the accumulated "extra repair cost" that builds up with repeated repairs, preventing the "Too Expensive!" message. This operation can be performed an unlimited number of times.
