Unnamed Monster: The Hunt Begins!
This mod draws its inspiration from the famous Monster Hunter franchise by Capcom. It fundamentally transforms your Minecraft adventures by adding epic creatures to hunt and a unique equipment system.
Prepare for battles with mighty bosses and creatures, some familiar from Monster Hunter and some created by the author BitZero. Each entity has a unique set of skills and stats, information about which you can see right during the fight. Defeating a monster yields its specific trophies, such as scales, fangs, or bones. These materials are the foundation for crafting powerful weapons, tools, and armor endowed with special properties. As you gear up better and better, you can take on the trail of hunting for more formidable opponents.
The mod also introduces a companion system. By taming a Felyne, you will gain a faithful helper capable of gathering rare and useful components for you.
Important: The Unnamed Monster mod requires the GeckoLib library to be installed beforehand.
Main Gameplay Elements
New Weaponry: More Than Just a Sword
In addition to classic weapons, you will have three new specialized weapon types with unique mechanics at your disposal.
Greatsword: A strike with this weapon has a chance to deal critical damage, acting as an instant double hit. But be careful: using it together with a shield in the off-hand will inflict debuff effects on yourself.
Long Sword: A special ability on right-click deals massive damage in a wide area.
Dual Blades: Equipping them in both hands grants you a constant passive effect. The right mouse button activates a quick area attack using the weapon in the off-hand.
Lance: Has two powerful skills on the right mouse button with separate cooldowns: an uppercut-like sweep and a dash-like charge attack.
Arsenal and Armor
Weapons: Crafted from trophies and possessing special properties. You have access to both basic versions and unique swords capable of inflicting statuses such as Paralysis, Thunderblight, Waterblight, or Fireblight on enemies.
Armor: Each full set of armor crafted from the materials of a specific monster not only increases your defense but also grants immunity to a specific negative effect. For example, armor made from Barroth protects against "Muddy," and Anjanath's armor protects against fire.
Creatures to Hunt
The world will be filled with various monsters, from small pack creatures like Jagras and Giaprey to true bosses like Zinogre or Rathalos. Their habitats are clearly tied to specific biomes (Bamboo Jungle, Old Growth Pine Taiga, Ice Spikes, etc.). Some monsters have rare Albino and Melanistic variations.
Particular danger and value are posed by Monster Nests—special areas with a high concentration of entities that can appear in certain biomes and contain rare loot.
Status Effects
Monsters and their weapons can inflict various debuffs on the player:
- Fireblight: You are set on fire.
- Waterblight: Your saturation drops to zero.
- Paralysis: You cannot move on your own.
- Muddy: Attack and movement speed decrease.
- Snowman: Reduces attack speed, knockback resistance, and movement speed.
- Thunderblight: Allows you to be paralyzed by any hit.
Pets and Useful Items
Felyne: A passive entity that lives in "cat treehouses" in Sparse Jungles. By taming it, you will get a companion that will automatically gather special resources for you: various bones, healing and rare herbs (Bitterbug, Antidote Herb), as well as ores like Raw Carbalite.
Special Items: In addition to monster trophies, a number of useful consumables for hunting are available: an antidote for poison and wither, an energy drink for speed and saturation, regeneration potions of different strengths, an attack charm, and a catalyst that temporarily boosts your stats.
