Where Is It
Minecraft mod that helps locate items in nearby containers. Simply hover over any item and press the Y key to start searching.

Required Components
The mod requires installation of Fabric API and Yet Another Config Library (YACL). Additionally, the mod automatically includes JackFredLib and MixinExtras libraries.
Key Features
Compatibility with any clients - all players can join servers with the mod installed, even those without the mod.
Advanced search - supports searching by various criteria: item ID, name, tags, fluid contents, enchantments, potions, and many other parameters, as well as their combinations.
Server-side implementation - players without the mod can use the /whereis command (configurable) to search for items.
Recipe integration - works with recipe systems, including the standard Recipe Book, as well as popular mods JEI, REI, and EMI:
- Search for items by contained fluids and recipe tags
- Special search types (for example, searching for enchantments via enchanted books and potion effects via potions themselves)
- Smart favorite handling - add a named shulker box to favorites, and search will work regardless of its contents
How to Use
Basic search: Press Y (by default) to start searching by item ID.
In Inventory
Hold shift for additional NBT data search.
In Recipes (Recipe Book / JEI / REI / EMI)
The system automatically searches by recipe tags where applicable. When hovering over a fluid, it searches for items containing that fluid.
In Item Overlays (JEI / REI / EMI)
Usually works similarly to inventory, but some items have special behavior:
- Enchanted books search for items with the corresponding enchantment. Holding shift specifies the enchantment level
- Potions search for items with the corresponding effect. Holding shift searches for the specific item
In Favorite Items (JEI / REI / EMI)
The system attempts to find the specific item by analyzing its name, enchantments, or potion effects.
