World Paint - Color Your World with Functional Paint
World Paint is a unique mod created specifically for ModJam 2008.1 that transforms the ordinary Minecraft world into a true artistic palette! Each paint color possesses special magical properties that activate when applied to blocks.
What Does the Mod Add?
The mod introduces five special items for working with paints:
- Throwable Paint - not used in crafting, but when thrown, it colors the area around the landing spot
- Paintbrush - allows precise application of paint to blocks without spreading
- Painting Boots - color the ground underfoot while walking and change the player's color
- Color Palette - tool for selecting and mixing shades with an interactive interface
- Paint Scrubber - removes paint from blocks and surrounding area
Magical Color Properties
All effects can be customized to your needs!
- Black - with a chance, spawns hostile mobs
- Blue - creates a bouncy surface and gives jump boost effect
- Gray - speeds up furnaces placed above the painted area
- Green - turns dirt into grass, accelerates plant growth and leaf spreading
- Orange - creates a slippery surface
- Pink - with a chance, spawns peaceful mobs
- Purple - strengthens mobs
- Red - burns regular mobs and weakens undead
- White - gives invisibility effect
- Yellow - restores health and saturates the player
Usage Features
The color palette opens a graphical interface when right-clicked, where you can select shades using a color wheel and saturation slider. To color items, simply place them together with the palette in a crafting table.
Note: In the current version, there is a bug where the crafting recipe doesn't check the number of items in the crafting table.
