Background Transitions

This resource pack revitalizes the Minecraft main menu by smoothly transitioning between panoramic backgrounds from different game versions (from Beta 1.8 to 1.18 snapshots). The modification is based on new built-in shaders that provide soft transitions without requiring Optifine.

No Optifine installation required.

Features and Configuration

The resource pack is incompatible with other panorama modifications. However, you have the ability to expand it with your own background sets: simply use the original file structure, and transitions will work with any number of panoramas.

Configuration is done by editing parameters in the file background_transitions/assets/minecraft/shaders/core/position_tex_color.fsh:

• Transition speed (line 7): #define CHANGE_SPEED <speed:decimal>
• Number of cycles (line 8): #define TIMES <amount:integer>

Creating Add-ons

You can develop and distribute add-ons with your own panorama collections. For this, it's sufficient to acknowledge authorship in the credits or publish only the modified files. In this case, my resource pack will serve as the foundation for your creative work.

The 1.12 version panorama was enhanced using materials from another project.
