Better Witch — enhanced witches

Refresh your gameplay encounters with witches thanks to Better Witch — a free and open-source datapack for Minecraft versions 1.16 and above. These magical opponents have become much more dangerous! In addition to the standard set of potions (poison, weakness, slowness, and damage), witches have gained a new formidable weapon — blindness potions, making battles with them even more intense.

The witch uses the blindness potion wisely: she only throws it when the player is at least 2 blocks away. This adds strategic depth to confrontations and forces players to be more careful when fighting.

Datapack Installation

For a new world

1. When creating a new world, go to the Data Packs menu and click Open Pack Folder.
2. Place the ZIP file with the datapack in the opened folder.
3. Return to the data packs menu and move Better Witch from the Available section to the Selected section.
4. Click Done and create your new world.

⚠️ Important: Do not exit the world creation menu, otherwise you will have to repeat all steps.

For an existing world

1. In the main menu, select the desired world and click Edit, then Open World Folder.
2. Go to the datapacks folder and place the ZIP file with the datapack there.
3. Restart the world — the datapack will activate automatically.

Now you can enjoy the updated witch behavior in your Minecraft world!
