Overview

This resource pack for Minecraft Transit Railway adds British Rail Class 507 and 508 electric trains to the game. These models were designed and manufactured by British Rail Engineering Limited between 1978 and 1980.

Class 507 and 508 are third-rail electric multiple units belonging to BREL's 1972 family of suburban trains. Their counterparts include Class 313, 314 and 315. Class 507 was originally designed specifically for Merseyside routes after testing with two Class 313 units confirmed their suitability for operation (initially on the Northern Line). Class 508, although also designed for Merseyside, was first used in London before all units were transferred to Merseyrail and reclassified as Class 508/1, with one TSO coach removed and repurposed for Class 455/7s.

In the 2000s, some units were leased to Southeastern and London Overground and were subsequently scrapped without returning to Merseyrail. Initially, Class 507 operated on the Northern Line while Class 508 served the Wirral Line, but currently both types are used on both lines.
