What is this?
You've probably noticed that in standard Minecraft, chests, double chests, and minecarts with chests (as well as corresponding items and trapped variants) receive special textures during the Christmas period—on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and the following day.
This resource pack does two things to make everything look harmonious, only during the Christmas holidays:
- Gives unique appearances to the "Minecart with Chest" and "Boat with Chest" items
- Changes the appearance of boats with chests, llamas, donkeys, and mules equipped with chests (this requires the Entity Texture Features modification)
How does it work?
Changes to entity appearances won't work without Entity Texture Features or a modpack that includes it, such as Fabulously Optimized.
If you don't want to install mods, only the item texture changes will work.
Item changes work only in version 1.21.4+ (specifically starting from 24w45a), thanks to new capabilities for defining "item states." This is impossible in older versions without additional mods, and I don't know of any mods that provide this functionality.
Entity changes are not compatible with OptiFine since it doesn't support the required properties.
