Love and Hugs
In 2015, Mojang played an April Fools' joke on Minecraft fans by releasing an update called "Love and Hugs". Today, I present you with a resource pack that brings back the amazing textures from that version, adapted for modern game releases! I also refined some elements to ensure they blend seamlessly with the current aesthetic.
Take swords, for example: in the April Fools' version, they all turned into hearts on sticks. I replaced these sticks with modern hilts matching the sword design from update 1.14.
Notably, the original version didn't include a Netherite heart since this material was only introduced in Minecraft 1.16. I fixed this oversight and added the appropriate texture!
Key Changes:
Sky and Menu
- Clouds now take the shape of huge pink hearts
- The main menu retains only one splash text: "Minecraft is love, Minecraft is life"
Blocks and Items
- Lava has become liquid cheese (and the lava bucket turned into a cheese bucket)
- When using the "Mojang Thing" banner pattern, a heart now appears on the banner
- Arrows now feature a heart at the tip
- TNT has become a love bomb
- All swords have been replaced with hearts featuring modern hilts (including the Netherite sword)
Potions
- Potion of Harming transformed into Potion of Love
- Potion of Slowness became Potion of Caring
- Potion of Invisibility turned into Potion of Fun
- Potion of Leaping became Potion of Happiness
- Potion of Weakness now symbolizes sharing
Entities
- Creeper has become much friendlier and constantly smiles
- Iron Golem acquired an extremely unusual appearance
- Magma cubes turned into cheese cubes
- Wither is now completely harmless
- Minecarts feature a soft and comfortable interior with 1.14's design but in the "Love and Hugs" style
