Overview

CP Class 2240 is an electric train used by the Portuguese railway company Comboios de Portugal (CP) for suburban and regional services. Each train consists of three cars: one head motor car at each end and a central car with traction motors.

The production of these trains was carried out by Alstom between 2003 and 2005. A feature of this project was the use of refurbished body shells from older models of series 2100, 2150, and 2200 manufactured by Sorefame. This approach helped reduce costs and preserve classic rolling stock. The bogies for these trains were newly manufactured and equipped with traction motors from Alstom. The trains are designed to operate on the Iberian gauge of 1668 mm width.

The trains can operate in configurations of up to three coupled trains simultaneously, providing passenger transportation in a nine-car formation. Thanks to modernized interiors, updated front design, and improved systems, these electric trains have become a permanent feature of the Portuguese regional railway network.

This resource pack adds the CP Class 2240 electric train to Minecraft using the Minecraft Transit Railway mod. The model was created by author vitor2005 using the StaticWind Kit tools. The train's front design was developed using the Meshy.ai service.
