JR East 209/E501 Series Resource Pack for Minecraft Transit Railway

This resource pack adapts Japanese electric trains from the 209-2000/2100 series and E501 series for the Minecraft Transit Railway mod.

The 209-0 series comprises trains manufactured by Kawasaki, Tokyu Car Corporation, and JR Niitsu between 1992 and 1998. A total of 812 cars were produced for the Keihin-Tohoku—Negishi and Nambu lines, replacing the outdated 103 series. The design prioritized three objectives: reducing manufacturing costs, lowering the train weight, and shortening operational lifespan. These trains served as prototypes for numerous subsequent models including E501, E217, 701, E127, and E231 series.

By 2007, trains on the Keihin-Tohoku—Negishi line were replaced by E233-1000 series following the original 209 series concept. However, most front/rear cars and select intermediate cars avoided scrapping. Some were repurposed for training purposes, while others were converted into the 209-2000/2100 series currently operating on Sōbu Main Line, Sotobō, Tōgane, Uchibō, and Narita lines.

The E501 series was produced by Kawasaki and Tokyu Car Corporation from 1995 to 1997. The 60 manufactured cars were designated for Jōban and Mito Lines. These trains feature dual-voltage equipment required for operations beyond Toride, where AC power must be used to prevent interference with the Japan Meteorological Agency's Magnetic Observatory in Ishioka City. Current replacement by E531 series is underway, with some trains rumored for transfer to JR Kyushu.
