OG Paintings
This texture pack restores the original splendor of Minecraft paintings by replacing scaled-down and altered versions with full-size, high-resolution originals created by artist Kristoffer Zetterstrand. Many artworks are presented in their complete, uncropped versions to fully appreciate the artistic vision of the author.
Among interesting features is the unique modification of one painting where instead of the standard version appears a self-portrait of the artist himself. Certain images, such as "Creebet" and "Pigscene", preserve the high resolution of the originals while retaining the iconic mob heads as in the base game version.
Features and Technical Details
For optimal display in gaming conditions, individual paintings have been cropped according to the proportions of in-game frames. Thanks to the application of the specialized compression algorithm PackSquash, the texture pack size has been significantly reduced — from initial 74.8 MB to 25.5 MB. When viewed closely, the dithering effect that enables such substantial file size reduction may be noticeable.
The currently implemented paintings fully correspond to those originals referenced on the Minecraft wiki page. Frame elements have been intentionally excluded from the current version, but their addition is being considered for future updates. Those who prefer a more traditional approach while preserving the original texture structure might enjoy the alternative HD Paintings.
