Restored Brightness
Important update: Due to rendering changes in version 1.21.9, the MC-225088 bug has been fixed by Minecraft developers and is no longer marked as "Works As Intended". Therefore, this resource pack will no longer be updated after version 1.21.8 as there is no longer any need to use it.
The Restored Brightness resource pack fixes incorrect lightmap sampling in versions 1.17+ that caused excessive darkening of the game world. The solution consists of just one line of changes reviewed in bug report MC-278012. This issue was a duplicate of the MC-225088 error, which was previously incorrectly marked as "Working Correctly" despite clearly erroneous behavior - the full range of the lightmap remained inaccessible.
The resource pack is fully compatible with the Sodium mod when using either the Sodium Core Shader Support addon for versions 1.20.4+, or Sodium Shader Support for versions 1.20.1 and below. When using with core shader support, warnings may appear that can be safely ignored. Sodium version 0.5.11 may cause graphical artifacts, and Sodium 0.5.13 requires using version 0.6 of the resource pack.
