Stormilla

Stormilla is a comprehensive Vanilla+ enhancement pack that addresses numerous bugs and incorporates quality-of-life improvements and detailed adjustments. Below, I outline the core design principles if you're interested in the specific goals of this pack.

I also plan to extract some popular features from this pack into standalone smaller packs that focus on single concepts and ensure greater compatibility with the base vanilla experience. Enjoy!

Design Principles

• Fixing Inconsistencies — resolving all texture and model issues that a resource pack can fix, along with logical inconsistencies.
• Artistic Style Consistency — Minecraft's default pack isn't entirely uniform. Some models and textures appear outdated—whether they're overly detailed, lack detail, have a messy color palette, or simply follow a different art style. Some, like diamond ore and the creeper, are intentionally preserved due to their iconic status, but they will still receive updates.
• Pixel Uniformity — most of the game already adheres to pixel standards. Only a few textures differ in resolution compared to blocks. Where possible, mismatched pixel sizes will be corrected.
• Reduced Uniformity — most textures that are mere recolors of existing ones will be made more distinctive, similar to the ore changes in version 1.17 (exceptions include wood planks, concrete, and terracotta).
• Palette Consistency — textures of the same material will share the same or a similar color palette (with potential exceptions like the iron block and anvil).
• Enhancing Texture Depth — some textures appear too flat due to inadequate shading, which will be fixed.
• Version Parity — Bedrock and Java Edition will be as similar as a resource pack allows.
• Slight Realism — certain elements will become more realistic without compromising the vanilla feel.
• New Item Models — many items suffer from inconsistencies, such as the cauldron being 2D and the composter 3D. There's no reason for such differences. Some items also use flat block textures instead of dedicated item textures. Both issues will be addressed.
• Vanilla Building Blocks — slight tweaks may be made, but they won't be drastically altered. I don't want your builds to look drastically different with this pack enabled.

Compatibility and Additional Mods

Some features require Fabric/Quilt mods. Alternatively, OptiFine can be used for some features. No mods are necessary to use this pack, but you'll miss out on the full feature set.

Features marked in bold and italic are supported by OptiFine, but Fabric mods are recommended as they offer more features than OptiFine.

EMF and ETF are required for custom entities to work properly. OptiFine features (Custom Entity Models and Random Entities) must also be enabled together.

Add-ons

• Dark Mode (UI) — a dark version of the interface (Stormilla includes a dark mode, accessible only via Respackopts).
• Fading Enchantment Glint — enchanted item shimmer that fades in and out smoothly.
• Stormilla Modded (unofficial add-on) — adds compatibility with various mods, primarily for interfaces.
• Compatibility with Soul Campfire Improvements from VanillaTweaks (unofficial add-on).

Stormilla Features in Separate Packs

• No Z-Fighting — fixes for overwriting glitches in the vanilla resource pack.
• Door Tweaks — altered doors with enhanced compatibility, including 3D door handles.
