ucsur galactic resource pack
This resource pack lets you type in galactic language yourself in Minecraft by adding support for UCSUR's codepoints for the standard galactic alphabet.
What is UCSUR and how does it work?
UCSUR stands for the Under ConScript Unicode Registry. This project coordinates the usage of codepoints in Unicode's private use areas (PUA) to include various artificial writing systems, mainly designed for constructed languages. This means such characters can be typed and encoded in text.
UCSUR has a section dedicated to the standard galactic alphabet, which is used in Minecraft in places like the enchantment table. However, in the game this font is hardcoded, and without adding separate Unicode characters to the game's font, it's impossible to determine where galactic text is used - that's exactly what this pack does!
How to use this resource pack?
Of course, you can't simply type galactic symbols on a standard keyboard (at least not without additional software). You're unlikely to find a keyboard that natively supports typing the galactic alphabet.
Therefore, I created a translator on LingoJam specifically for this purpose! However, there's a chance your browser might not display the result - I solved this problem by installing the Fairfax HD font and setting it as the default browser font. Now when the site can't display the characters, it uses Fairfax HD as a fallback option that successfully handles this task.
