ViaBackwards Plus
This Minecraft resource pack significantly enhances the gaming experience with the ViaBackwards plugin, which allows players to connect to modern servers using an outdated client version. The distinctive feature of this pack is that when another resource pack is installed on top of it, it automatically loads textures from the latter!
Future Plans
- Maintain the pack's up-to-dateness
- Adapt the pack for Optifine
- Create a custom ViaBackwards version for optimal performance
- Fix all identified bugs
- Add support for versions below 1.16 (if there's sufficient interest)
- Possibly add additional easter eggs
Dependencies
Starting from version 2, the project has become completely self-sufficient and doesn't require additional mods!
Update Release Cycle
For Minecraft 1.20.5 and newer: When a prerelease or release candidate of Minecraft becomes available, a beta version of the pack is published that may contain bugs. After the official Minecraft release, an updated ViaBackwards is released, and that's when final adjustments and publication of the updated ViaBackwards Plus occur.
Legacy Version Support
Version 1 system may be reactivated if there's demand,
however versions below 1.16 are not officially supported, though community assistance with their adaptation is always welcome
