CTR VCR

This unique shader gives Minecraft a vintage charm by recreating the characteristic image artifacts of old CRT monitors and VCRs with VHS tapes. Inspired by the analog aesthetics of past decades, it skillfully adds subtle interference, slight color distortions through chromatic aberrations, horizontal scan lines, and other classic analog video artifacts to the game world.

The special feature of CTR VCR is that all these visual effects are carefully balanced - they create a harmonious retro atmosphere without overloading the image or interfering with gameplay. The result is a unique combination of modern gameplay with nostalgic video style, making the ordinary Minecraft world more expressive and intimate.

Originally, the shader effects were created as a GLSL shader for Unity in 2023, but were later adapted for Minecraft.
