Frozen Castle: Survival Map in Icy World

Immersion into Icy Nightmare

This experimental world, which I developed over twenty days, presents a unique survival map. I built my own castle right in the middle of a frozen ocean, turning it into a bastion of safety in this harsh landscape. When the base was almost completely finished, and only defeating the Ender Dragon and Wither remained for full completion, I decided to share my creation with the community.

Game World Features

The Frozen Castle world combines several unique modifications:

World of Eternal Winter

Frozen Hell datapack functionality:

• The sun has disappeared from the sky, leaving the world in perpetual darkness
• The Overworld has become frozen, desolate wastelands
• Resources are extremely rare and sparse
• Practically everything is covered in ice and snow
• The End and Nether dimensions remain untouched
• Land creatures cannot survive in such cold - they either perished or turned into zombies
• Vegetation has completely died out without special care
• Villages are ruined and abandoned
• All heat and light sources have long been extinguished
• Trees have turned into useless petrified forms

Life still persists in the ocean under the ice: fish and squids can provide kelp, which players can cultivate for food.

Special Survival Conditions

Undead and supernatural mobs like skeletons, zombies, and endermen are resistant to extreme temperatures.

Igloos become crucial locations - deep underground, the last survivors are trapped, awaiting rescue.

The remaining villagers managed to hide seeds of various crops and some food before dying from the cold.

Ice blocks can be mined without Silk Touch enchantment.

Unique audio accompaniment creates an atmosphere of emptiness and world's indifference to the player.

Body Temperature System

The player's body temperature gradually decreases in cold biomes.

When reaching critically low values the player takes freezing damage, which, similar to poisoning, leaves only half a heart, bringing to a half-dead state.

Restore thermal balance near light and heat sources from level 12 (torches, glowstone, campfires, etc.).

Prevent freezing by holding any light-emitting item (except campfires) in hands, which stabilizes temperature without increasing it.

Natural Experience Growth

Learn From You Own Deeds datapack functionality: Experience is awarded for various actions: using tools, taming animals, breeding, digging, mining resources, building, shield dodging, arrow deflection, farming, killing ghasts with reflected fire charges, shooting with bows and crossbows, trident throwing, potion brewing, sniper duels with skeletons, enchanting, honey harvesting, exploring End cities.

Reverse Crafting and Recycling

Backwards Crafting datapack functionality: Disassembling items into components: previously uncraftable items are available again, most materials can be smelted in blast furnaces; realistic disassembly system at crafting tables, furnaces, stonecutters, and smithing tables with material preservation.

The hero is equipped with fully enchanted mid-level diamond gear and possesses sufficient experience.

Customization Options

Individual datapacks can be deactivated via /datapack command with cheats enabled, or by deleting corresponding .zip files from the world save folder.

Important: removing key modifications, especially Frozen Hell and Cold Temperatures, may lead to unpredictable consequences since the world is built upon them.
